VOTING 23-0, the Senate on Wednesday adopted House Concurrent Resolution 20 approving the grant of amnesty to former members of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People's Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) who have committed crimes punishable under the Revised Penal Code and special penal laws in furtherance of their political beliefs.

With the Senate's concurrence with Presidential Proclamation 404, about 3,000 former members of communist groups can apply for amnesty granted by Malacañang.
