MANILA, Philippines: The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Tuesday expressed confidence that the German government would provide Filipino seafarers "the highest protection" following the missile attack launched by Houthi rebels on a Barbados-flagged vessel that left two dead.

DFA Undersecretary Eduardo De Vega made the pronouncement as President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is currently on a three-day working visit to Berlin and is slated to witness the signing of a maritime agreement between the Philippines and Germany.
