UP marine researcher granted Pew Fellowship for work on coral reef protection

UNIVERSITY of the Philippines Diliman Marine Science Institute (UPD MSI) associate professor Rene Abesamis has been granted the 2024 Pew Fellowship in Marine Conservation by The Pew Charitable Trusts.

Over the thee-year fellowship, Abesamis will receive $150,000 to support his work on enhancing local capacity to identify and protect climate-resilient coral reefs in central Philippines.
