THE P1.7 trillion that the United States will invest in the Philippines could counter the effect of any economic "coercion" that Beijing might impose on Manila, Philippine Ambassador to Washington Jose Manuel Romualdez said.
He issued the statement amid concerns raised by Filipino exporters that they were told that China would reduce the volume of fruits it imports from the Philippines.
