Policeman convicted in teen's killing

THE Navotas City Regional Trial Court Branch 286 on Tuesday handed light sentences to the policemen involved in the 'mistaken' killing of 17-year-old Jemboy Baltazar in August last year.

The original charge filed on Aug. 2, 2023 against the six Navotas policemen was murder but the court convicted only one, Ssg. Gerry Maliban, not of murder but of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
