Trough of LPA affects Davao; 'amihan' prevails over Luzon, including Metro Manila – Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines: The trough of a low pressure area (LPA) spotted outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) will bring rain to the Davao Region while the northeast monsoon ('amihan') will affect Luzon, including Metro Manila.

In its 5 a.m. advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was estimated over the southern portion of Mindanao (outside PAR). Weather specialist Rhea Torres said the weather disturbance, however, would unlikely develop into a tropical depression and has a slim chance to enter PAR in the coming days.
