PNP sacks 131 policemen

(UPDATE) THE Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Thursday it has dismissed from duty 131 policemen for various offenses, as part of its ongoing effort to clean up its ranks.

'Sixty-two were AWOL cases. The others were grave offenses, including robbery, illegal drugs, obstruction of justice and conduct unbecoming a police officer,' said PNP spokesman Col. Jean Fajardo.
