The country's top woodpushers are slated to compete in the 1st Marinduque National Chess Open Tournament on March 9 at the Marinduque Convention Center, Capitol Compound in Boac, Marinduque.
National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) director for Region 4, Dr. Alfredo "Fred" Paez said many masters and top non-masters from all over the Philippines have signified intentions to play in the seven-round Swiss system format tournament.
