Defense department responds to Tiglao column

THE Department of National Defense would like to issue a clarification on the column of Mr. Rigoberto Tiglao published in The Manila Times on Feb. 12, 2024, titled 'Año and Teodoro's witless knee-jerk press blabbers must be quelled.'

We would like to point out that Secretary of National Defense Gilberto Teodoro Jr. did not say '[t]he military will use its forces to quell and stop any and all attempts to dismember the Republic,' as quoted by Mr. Tiglao.
