A Philippine-based international think tank has called on lawmakers to take immediate steps to make it easier for Filipinos to own electric vehicles (EVs).
"We have to create opportunities for more Filipinos to live sustainably with affordable electric vehicles," said Stratbase ADR Institute President Prof. Dindo Manhit who is pushing Congress to amend certain provisions of Republic Act (RA) 11697, otherwise known as the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (Evida), by lifting the importation barriers to electric vehicles.
