THE Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Tuesday announced plans to form a task force within the year to go after online peddlers of fake products and those with false advertising.

FDA Director General Samuel Zacate said that the agency's approval ensures products — especially those for skin care and supplements, which are mainly sold on social media platforms — are "safe, efficient and of quality."
