THE industry needs to take action now to prepare for future crewing challenges and retain quality seafarers, manning agency Senator Crewing Manila said.
A Baltic and International Maritime Council (Bimco) report warned of a potential officer shortage by 2026, projecting a need for 89,510 additional officers to join the 1.89 million currently serving the global fleet.
