MANILA, Philippines: A magnitude 5.3 earthquake occurred on Monday in Surigao del Norte, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs Director Teresito Bacolcol said the tremor took place around 10:03 a.m. some 92 kilometers northeast of the town of General Luna, also in the same province.
