Rice stocks up 9.6% at start of year

LOCAL rice stocks increased year-on-year by 9.6 percent at the start of the current year, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported.

Latest data from the statistics agency showed that rice stocks as of Jan. 1, 2024 was estimated at 2.03 million metric tons (MT), a rise from 1.85 million MT recorded in the same period a year before.
