Athletic San Miguel Beer wingman CJ Perez captured his first-ever Best Player of the Conference (BPC) award, beating close rival Christian Standhardinger of Barangay Ginebra during the short awarding ceremony before the start of Game Four of the PBA Season 48 Commissioner's Cup on Friday, February 9, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Perez, the top overall pick of Terrafirma in the 2019 PBA Draft, finally nailed his first BPC trophy after amassing 1,054 points by topping the media votes with 505, getting 86 player votes and finishing second to Standhardinger in the statistical race (464).
