Stock market, peso lifted by latest economic data

THE peso and the stock market rose on Wednesday with the lift said to have been provided by favorable economic data.

The currency strengthened by 25 centavos to P55.95 against the dollar while the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) advanced by 1.11 percent, or 74.78 points, to end the day at 6,830.04.
