"HEY, journal, I tried something" is queer visual artist Carla Norberta's first solo exhibition. After finally being formally diagnosed with her long suspected attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, mild depression and social anxiety, Norberta takes to painting and canvas to portray her navigation of life with neurodivergence.

The series plays with the ideas of how mental illness is not always obvious, how the darkest of days look or feel, and the little ways to help get through the waves. This series is also an ode to therapy and journaling, which were a big help during the lowest points in life.
