The Commission on Population and Development (CPD) pushed for the swift passage of the Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Bill as live births among very young girls in the country increased in 2022.

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said that live births among adolescent mothers ages 15 years old and below rose to 3,135 in 2022 from 2,320 in 2021, up by 35.13 percent.
