(UPDATE) INFLATION slowed to well within target in January as food prices fell, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported on Tuesday.

At 2.8 percent, consumer price growth decelerated from December's 3.9 percent and was substantially lower than the 14-year high of 8.7 percent seen a year earlier.
