Fil-Am filmmaker Cindy Martin aims to tell the stories that matter

THE THOUGHT JUNKIE

Filipino-American documentary filmmaker Cindy Martin has a special reason why she named her production company King Horse Films. King Horse Films gets its namesake from the barangay of Cindy's parents, 'King Kabayo (Horse)' which is located two hours north of the capital Manila, in the province of Bulacan.

Just like most Filipinos, Cindy does everything out of the desire to not just honor her parents and her heritage but also to make them proud. And this she has done. First as an experienced broadcast journalist with a 20-year career across the United States and Europe. After earning a degree in Broadcast Journalism specializing in Politics and Psychology from the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign, she moved to London to work in international news. Since then, Martin has worked as a producer/reporter at Reuters Television for over 10 years covering the field across Europe before opening her own production company in 2014. Her company has worked with high profile clients like Associated Press Television Network (APTN), Sky News (UK), CGTN, and Getty Images to name a few.
