Philippines: While Luzon and Visayas would have generally fair weather due to the northeast monsoon or "amihan," some areas in Mindanao would experience scattered heavy rain due to the trough of a low pressure area (LPA).
Weather specialist Grace Castaneda of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA is unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone.
