MANILA, Philippines: The Senate Committee on Electoral Reforms and People's Participation opened its investigation into the reported pay-offs in the signature campaign for a people's initiative (PI) to pursue Charter change (Cha-cha).
Sen. Maria Josefa Imelda "Imee" Marcos, chairman of the electoral reforms panel, will preside over the public hearing to inquire on the alleged "misleading claims" by PI initiators to gather public support for Cha-cha.
