MANILA, Philippines: While the effect of the shear line has weakened, the northeast monsoon or "amihan" has intensified, this time affecting the entire archipelago, the state weather bureau said on Saturday.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Chief Nathaniel Servando said this means that the cold nights and mornings would persist until next month.
