MANILA, Philippines: Nine alleged members of a terrorist group, including two linked to the bombing of the Mindanao State University (MSU) in December, were killed during an encounter with state troops in Lanao del Sur this week, the Philippine Army reported on Saturday.
Colonel Louie Dema-ala, Public Affairs chief, said the clash with the Dawlah Islamiyah happened in Barangay Tapurog, Piagapo on Thursday. Of the nine fatalities, eight have been identified.
