MANILA, Philippine: President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday said that the country's Constitution should be updated to attract foreign investors, noting that the 36-year-old charter was "not written for a globalized world." However, the President opposed proposals to allow full foreign ownership of land, media, and power generation in the country.
"The 1987 Constitution was not written for a globalized world. And that's the way that is where we are now. We have to adjust so that we can increase the economic activities in the Philippines, we can attract more foreign investors," Marcos said in an interview with GMA İntegrated News.
