A low pressure area (LPA) has been spotted off Mindanao but it is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Sunday.

Weather specialist James Daniel Villamil said that the LPA has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone.
