Barangay Ginebra rode on a blazing second-half scoring blitz to seize control as the Gin Kings clobbered the NorthPort Batang Pier, 106-93, en route to booking a semifinal seat in the PBA Season 48 Commissioner's Cup on Friday, January 19, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

The Gin Kings, the third seed in the playoffs, outscored the sixth-ranked Batang Pier, 30-13, in a critical second quarter tear to take the driver's seat. The boys of coach Tim Cone never looked back as the league's most popular squad rolled to the victory, setting up a best-of-five semifinal duel with sister team San Miguel Beer in the process.
