MANILA, Philippines: President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Social Welfare Secretary Rexlon "Rex" Gatchalian led the launch of the government's disaster response and assistance project at the 73rd anniversary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Friday.
The Buong Bansa Handa Project and its 24/7 Disaster Response Command Center (DRCC) is in accordance with President Marcos' mandate to expedite the provision of assistance to disaster-affected families to ensure that no one is left behind during calamities, DSWD Spokesman Romel Lopez said. "The inauguration of the DRCC and the launch of the Buong Bansa Handa Project will set the stage for a more resilient and proactive approach to disaster management, led by the DSWD," Lopez said.
