PSEi gains but peso back at P56:$1

LIKELY rate cuts and improved employment data saw the stock market rise but the peso fell on Tuesday.

The currency weakened 35 centavos to P56.01 against the dollar while the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) rose by 9.30 points, or 0.14 percent, to 6,618.52.
