(UPDATE) TACLOBAN CITY: Councilor Aimee Grafil reaffirmed on Monday the call for the general public to support the city's ordinance prohibiting the use of plastics and styrofoam.
The city's prohibition on single-use plastics went into effect on Jan. 1, 2024, based on Ordinance 2023-15-06, also known as the "Plastic and Styrofoam Packaging Regulation Ordinance," which was adopted by the city council and signed by Mayor Alfred Romualdez.
