Classic fleet of 'People's Car' converges in the City of Pines

THE classic Volkswagen Beetle stands as one of the most beloved car models globally. With a production history spanning several decades and over 20 million units built, it's evident that the charming two-door vehicle has captured the hearts of car enthusiasts worldwide. The Volkswagen love bug also left its mark on Filipino car enthusiasts, giving rise to the Volkswagen Club of the Philippines (VWCP).

VWCP started with a small group of Volkswagen enthusiasts in 1985 or 38 years ago by the late Mawie Chanco and fellow Volkswagen enthusiasts. Today, it boasts of members nationwide, with a total of 16 chapters. Beyond the iconic Beetle, VWCP enthusiasts also own other classic Volkswagen models, including Combi, Karmann Ghia, and more. Nearly four decades since its inception, VWCP remains active, organizing events such as its annual meet every December.
