"WE want to make sure that the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) will stand for another 50 years," said Tess Rances, CCP department manager of Administrative Services, as she reflected on the first year of its renovation. "It will be an honor to see it done."
The CCP Rehabilitation is part of the CCP Complex Development Plan, which includes strategies for forestation, sustainability, traffic management, and other restorations. Its first phase aims primarily to retrofit the building according to the 2015 building code. However, heritage conservation is not a nostalgic trip back to the past, but it means ensuring that a building will stand the buffets of time.
