A LAWMAKER has filed a measure that seeks to make the installation of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras obligatory in all schools across the country, amid a rising incidence of violence on campuses.
House Bill 9260, or the "Campus Security Act," filed by Pinuno Party-list Rep. Ivan Howard Guintu, seeks the mandatory installation of CCTV cameras in "every single school campus nationwide," covering strategic areas in their premises "to capture photos and/or videos of possible or actual crimes, or untoward incidents."
