PH needs to rethink energy strategy

THE Philippines' current energy strategy does not adequately account for all the factors necessary for energy security, and as a consequence, the country's situation with respect to the sufficiency and accessibility of energy to meet growing demand is likely significantly worse than we are being led to believe. That is the conclusion that we draw from a new study on energy security from the Philippine Institute of Development Studies (PIDS), and government planners should take its analysis and recommendations seriously.
