MANILA, Philippines: Former senator Panfilo "Ping" Lacson lauded President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s agenda to use social programs in uplifting families from poverty instead of making them dependent on dole-outs.
In his New Year's message, the President said that assistance programs such as cash subsidy and emergency employment aid are not about keeping poor Filipinos dependent.
