THE Philippines posted a higher net external liability position in the third quarter of the year, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) reported late Friday.

This was driven mainly by the 1.0-percent contraction in the country's external financial assets, offsetting the 0.7-percent decline in external financial liabilities.
