THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has issued additional guidelines that will take effect after the Dec. 31, 2023 deadline for traditional jeepney operators to comply with the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP), and consolidate into cooperatives.
In Memorandum Circular 2023-052, the LTFRB said in routes where jeepneys have not consolidated, operators shall be allowed to ply until the end of January 2024 to avoid hampering public transportation.
