THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said Friday that jeepney drivers whose livelihoods will be upended by the implementation of the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP) might take advantage of the department's programs and services.
DSWD Program Management Bureau (PMB) Director Miramel Laxa brought up the possibility because under the PUVMP, drivers may find themselves in crisis situations upon the implementation of the modernization program next year.
