He did not do the dishes. He did not wash his own laundry. He did not throw out the garbage. He did not help clean the house. He did not peel off the 'sayote' or 'papaya' for the 'tinola.'

All that 'Kuya' (Big Brother) Mat did was read and read both before and after school in what is now Gapan City where we grew up in the mid-1960s.
