AS urged by Marian devotees and our December 7 column, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. would hopefully consecrate the Philippines to the Immaculate Heart of Mary as Portugal's leaders did twice after the 1917 apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima in their country.
Those consecrations by two Portuguese presidents and the country's bishops are believed to have spared their nation from the ravages of the Second World War and the Spanish Civil War just across the border.
