Markets drop at start of last week of trading

THE peso and stock market both slid on Wednesday just days before financial markets close for the year.

The currency weakened by 15 centavos to P55.55 against the dollar while the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange (PSEi) shed 38.2 points, or 0.59 percent, to end the day at 6,462.80.
