MANILA Electric Co. (Meralco) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Manuel V. Pangilinan (MVP) is taking over the reins at SP New Energy Corp. (SPNEC) following the closing of MGen Renewable Energy's (MGreen) P15.9-billion investment in the solar energy firm.
SPNEC, founded by businessman Leandro Leviste, said in a disclosure on Wednesday that MGreen had "given the balance payment of P8.89 billion on December 27, 2023" to complete the acquisition.
