IN preparation for the "Big One," in reference to a major earthquake that is predicted to hit Metro Manila, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) hosted a briefing for embassies and international organizations in Makati City to discuss the technical aspects of disaster preparedness and provided information on hazard, vulnerability and risk assessment being made by the local government.
In his welcome remarks, Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Affairs (UCSCA) Jesus Domingo underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in ensuring the safety and preparedness of foreign residents and tourists alike in the face of a major earthquake.
