THE city of Muntinlupa may be ancient to today's youth, but it continues to set the bar for excellence and remains a beacon of strength and resilience. Muntinlupa recently marks 106 years of existence as an independent local government unit (LGU) on December 19. It has recognized the achievements of groups and individuals, who have made the city commendable.
Muntinlupa City Mayor Rozzano Rufino 'Ruffy' Biazon says: 'Firstly, as a local government unit, envisioning itself to become a leading investment hub and a model smart city, we have achieved milestones and recognitions that prove we are stepping up the ladder of success year after year. Secondly, as a people, celebrating the triumphs and successes of our fellow Muntinlupeños, who, in their respective fields and own ways, helped make the city truly nakaka-proud (worthy of pride).' Biazon also stresses the notable achievements of the city such as the recent awarding of the Seal of Good Local Governance for 2023 by the Department of Interior and Local Government, and the Sustainable Development Goal Award on City Climate Action Category by global advocacy body CityNet, among others. The 106th founding anniversary celebration recognizes the city's notable retirees and top 3 most outstanding employees from a pool of 12 finalists. Winners of 'PaMaNang Nakakaproud Most Improved HOA' and 'PaMaNang Nakakaproud Cleanest and Most Orderly Subdivisions' from 69 participating gated villages has also been announced during the celebration.
