NTC ruling vs SMNI 'unconstitutional' – Panelo

MANILA, Philippines: The ruling of the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) suspending the radio and television operations of Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI) is unconstitutional, according to former presidential chief legal counsel Salvador Panelo.

Panelo, who himself read the NTC's ruling in a livestream on YouTube on Thursday, said it violated due process for the network and is an assault on press freedom.
