THE peso again closed higher against the dollar, and the stock market also rose as sentiment improved just ahead of the Christmas Day break.
The currency strengthened by 17 centavos to P55.40:$1 while the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) advanced by 31.77 points, or 0.49 percent, to close out the week at 6,501.00.
