THE World Bank has noted possible rice supply issues in the Philippines as a result of the El Niño weather pattern, which is expected to weigh on farm production.

In its Agricultural Market Information System Market Monitor for December, the Washington-based multilateral organization pointed out that agricultural output contracted by 0.3 percent in the third quarter due to weather disruptions.
