6 rebels, 1 soldier die in Batangas clash

CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal: Six New People's Army (NPA) members and one government soldier were killed in a clash on Sunday, December 17, in Balayan, Batangas.

Personnel belonging to the Philippine Army's 59th Infantry 'Protector' Battalion, Philippine Navy, and Philippine Air Force were conducting combat operations at Barangay Malalay when they encountered an undetermined number of armed men believed to be members of SPP Kawing from the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee's Sub-Regional Military Area 4C.
