MANILA, Philippines: The combined effects of the low pressure area (LPA), formerly Tropical Depression "Kabayan," and shear line area are affecting Visayas, Mindanao and Bicol Region, the state-run weather agency said on Tuesday. According to weather specialist Robert Badrina, of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the LPA has a slim chance of redeveloping into a tropical depression.
"But this is expected to dump rain along with the shear line in many areas in Visayas and Mindanao and also in Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan), Quezon and Aurora," he said. Over the next few days, the LPA will shift its direction and will affect Palawan in particular.
