Davao City's Lyca Catubig claims first 2023 PNG gold

MANILA, Philippines: Lyca Catubig of Davao City earned the distinction of being the first gold medalist in the 2023 Philippine National Games (PNG), which made its return after being shelved for four years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Catubig finished the 3-kilometer walk event with a time of 16 minutes and 44.55 seconds at the PhilSports Track and Field in Pasig on Monday, December 18.
